Who this covers
RECAP Field is a work app for staff deployed to disaster response assignments. It is published by H2Bravo LLC. Only people given a login by their employer can use it, and it is not for children.
What the app collects
- Account details: your name and work email, set up by your employer.
- Location, only while you are on shift.
- In the installed RECAP Field app: from when you tap Start shift until you tap End shift, the app records your location about every 10 minutes, including while the app is in the background or the phone is locked. Your phone shows a notice while this is happening. If you swipe the app away, automatic location stops until you open it again.
- In the web version (the app opened in a browser): location is recorded only when you tap a button.
- The app also records your location when you start or end a shift, check in, send a request, or send an alert.
- Nothing is recorded while you are off shift, except an emergency alert you choose to send (see below).
- Emergency alerts: when you send an alert, the app includes your location. If you are off shift, you can untick the box to leave it out.
- Work time: when you start and end each shift. These times are your timesheet. A team lead or supervisor can correct them; the original times and the reason are kept.
- Work away from your site: if you ask to work away from your site (standby or remote work), we keep your request, its reason and the supervisor's decision.
- Shared computers: if you clock in or out on a shared computer at your site, you use your email and a 6-digit PIN. We store the PIN only in scrambled (hashed) form. The shared computer records its own location if it provides one, not your phone's. If it doesn't, no location is recorded and your supervisor reviews the entry.
- What you write: messages to the remote desk, supply and support requests, and incident reports.
The app does not access your contacts, photos, camera or microphone, and it does not track you for advertising.
Why it is collected
- To keep deployed staff safe, and to coordinate help in an emergency.
- To coordinate supplies and support.
- To confirm that billed work hours were worked at the assigned site.
Who can see it
- Your team lead, the remote desk, supervisors and administrators.
- Summaries of verified hours may be shared with the client the work is billed to.
- Service providers that run the app on our behalf:
- Supabase: database, with data stored in the United States
- Cloudflare: website
- Zoho: sends account emails, such as invitations to set up your account
We do not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Security and how long it is kept
Data is sent over encrypted connections and is open only to signed-in staff with the right role. Records are kept as long as needed for the assignment and as required by the client contract and law.
Your choices
You can turn location off in your phone's settings, but your hours may then need manual verification. To ask about, correct or delete your information, contact your team lead or email Reid@redlinestrategy.org.
Emergencies
RECAP Field does not contact 911 or any emergency service. If a life is at risk, call 911 first.
